Louisville Bus Routes 'Disaster' Shutters Schools

This week. Kentucky's largest school system in Louisville canceled the 2nd and 3rd day of classes for the school year after thousands of kids and their families waited for hours for their school buses to arrive. Jefferson County public school superintendent Marty Polio called the incident a quote transportation disaster that was caused by changes to bus routes and school start times. The district had hired an alpha route engineering to plan the new routes but could not keep up with the changes due to a driver shortage. Schools were closed yesterday and they were closed today. The school district will spend the next few days reviewing the bus routes and having drivers practice them before school is back in session on Monday.
