Lowes is expanding into the Metaverse. The home improvement company is allowing customers to have a virtual experience with Open Builder, a tool to help visualize their projects online first. Cheddar News breaks down the service offering.

Lowe's Open Builder Metaverse Tool to Help Home Improvement Projects

so well, speaking of the metaverse, Lowe's is utilizing technology for customers to work on home improvement. The company just launching a tool called open builder that lets customers arrange and visualize projects with 500 assets, like different types of doors, furniture and decor to see a room come together. It is completely free in the lows metaverse hub, an approach that allows anyone to use it rather than building the space on an existing hub like roadblocks. So lows has no interest in making money off of this tool. It just says that it's seen a big appetite from customers who want to use emerging technologies in their shopping experiences. Of course, anytime you kind of do a D. I. Y. Project at home, it does help to interact and be in a visual space to see how it actually comes together. Not surprised that Lowe's is doing this and it's kind of funny because Lowe's is actually having fun with this because they're also introducing an N. F. T. Collection for the 1st 1000 participants and they'll get a collection of boots, hard hats and other related accessories for builders on the D central land platform. So you know, it could be like a collector's kind of thing. Like oh I have the exclusive Lowe's boots that were only given out to 1000 avatars and that could be pretty cool. Yeah, I don't know if they're selling like Gucci would on this product just yet, ken print housing exactly. Just because we know what some of the prices and options are in the metaverse these days, but it makes total sense. We were speaking about this, we've been speaking about it for a long time, ever since the rebrand was announced by meta, of course, the parent company of facebook and that's it for design teams, for anyone who wants to collaborate, build something out together. It is easy and efficient to do it in a digital space and I think there's gonna be a huge boom in loyalty programs coming from the universe. When you go shop in the metaverse and shop in store, there's definitely gonna be some kind of connection with rewards, membership, something I'm sure we're gonna see that in the future as well.
