On January 8, 2011, exactly 10 years ago today, U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords and 18 others were shot during a constituent meeting  outside a Tucson-area supermarket. Six people died in the attack and another 13 were wounded, including Giffords, who was shot in the head. Daniel Hernandez Jr., the man credited with saving Giffords life immediately following the horrific attack and who currently serves as an Arizona state representative, looks back at the horrific event and says he was able to turn that trauma into action in an effort to protect others.
