Maryland Bans TikTok on State Devices

And let's stay with Tiktok here. Maryland became the latest state to ban Tiktok for government employees. Governor Larry Hogan announcing that new policy Tuesday executive branch employees in Maryland, now prohibited from using Tiktok, Alibaba Wechat and other platforms with origins in china in Russia, Hogan calling the app cyber security risks and he's ordered them to be removed from all state networks. Now in a statement, Tiktok responded, They said, quote, we are disappointed that many state agencies offices and universities that have been using Tiktok to build communities and connect with constituents will no longer have access to our platform. This comes about a week after South Dakota's governor issued a very similar ban as well.
