Meet The BoykinZ: The Black Girls of Country TikTok

staring at you, standing looking so fresh, watching you. That's amazing. Welcome back friends of trending known as the Black Girls of Country Tiktok. The boy kids made their debut on the social media platform in january this year and now have amassed more than 63 million views in nearly half a million followers. And now the singing sister group is independently releasing their first official single called Girls Night. So please be joined by the Boykins, cailin an Ollie Night, Irie and Alana Boykin Ladies, thank you so much for joining us. That is insane. You guys join Tiktok in the beginning part of this year and now you guys have taken off into superstardom from it. Why do you think Tiktok is like really caught on for you guys? I think there's so many things, but I think the energy, I think they're gravitating towards our energy and our authenticity and we're just being true to ourselves and having fun while doing it. So it's, it's amazing to see all these people connect to us and why do I always feel like your music is perfect Tiktok also, just in terms of the bite size, but we just saw that video right there about how you're able to sort of make this amazing sound from it also. Yes, thank you. So we've been a group for the past 10 years. We're sisters right? Yes, we're sisters and we've been singing officially for the past 10 years as a group, but we've always been singing around the house harmonizing. So this is nothing new to us. So you guys have described your, your band as sort of country fusion. You have to sort of this country feel infused with those sort of things like hip hop, r and B soul. So how do you sort of infuse these different genres? Because that's a lot sort of going in together? Yes, it is. Each one of us bring a different element to the group. So you all have different kinds of favorites that you're just like somebody like soul. Somebody likes rock. Yes. Like typically I in the group I bring more of the soul as far as my tone is very, um, just deep and raspy and the knowledge very jazzy. What about you? What about you? What do you, what do you bring? Very pop? Yeah, I can see by the way, each one of your outfits sort of match each one of your personalities, rock sound, you know, raspy, We share the raspy anus. So you guys just mentioned, released your first single is called Girls Night. For those who haven't heard it. How would you sort of describe what it's like? It is a fun single man. It makes you want to get up and dance. You know, like you know, dance with your friends and what else Girls? It's a country confused record is a line dance is mixed with some rap, hip hop, um, some pop elements. It's very catchy. So when you make a song now do you think about Tiktok and how it would basically work on Tiktok or a dance that would coordinate with it for Tiktok. That's a really good question. Sometimes I would say sometimes we're like after we're done making the record, we're like, oh wait, this actually could be good for tiktok instagram or, you know, any other social media platform, but that's, but usually when we think of it in the studios, like right after like, okay, what can this go out on? Okay. Most of our songs do sound like something that the kids will actually really like. So yeah, most of all our goal is to make something catchy, Everyone can listen to and sing along and does everything have a dance that goes with it to do? You sort of think about that when you're putting the song, a lot of hats, you gotta wear this? Um, yeah, I would say it's, you know, we're entertainers were theater kids. So, you know, we grew up with dance singing and acting in, in our music. I feel like it resembles that. And pretty much almost all of our songs have some type of, some type of turn left, turn right, something you guys got a lot of corporate sponsorships that you're involved in as well. But what sort of the creative, you know, sort of situation with these with these corporate sponsors and how do you sort of make something for them? That's not just your typical video. So a lot of times when they do come to us, they want us to bring ourselves to it. So um we just bring our style, our swag, Whatever the commercials about. If it's clothing, just doing what we do best. Which is, you know, dancing and singing, bringing the element to like selling a product and whatnot. They really like to just see us in our element. Right? They want authenticity. That's clearly what you guys bring here. So as a group, what are your future goals for this group? What do you want to do next? We ourselves um setting trends new trends within fashion. Within dance with the music. Yes. You know, you don't come across a country infused group too often. Yes. This is where you guys are so unique. Yes, Grammys. Everything. Yes. Taking over the world. Yes. So what about future performances? You guys have any sort of lined up that you guys have that you want to talk about? Oh my God, Where do you, where do we start? Yes. The NFL Yes. That is the thing with the NFL, You guys march around March from March, We're singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl for the N. B. A. N. B. A. For the Miami heat will be teaching our line dance. You'll be dancing with us. Oh my gosh! Are you guys nervous for like doing it with all these cheerleaders and in front of all these people at this arena. It's very exciting to just have a bunch of people just do it in any like different environment. You just think that's the coolest thing ever. Like cheerleaders like this. I know amazing things are in the works for you guys. You guys just have amazing energy. And I just love sort of the positive creativity that guy's coming from you guys.
