Meet the Founder Behind $1 Beauty Brand 'Miss A'

during this time when inflation has hit an all time high, pretty much every sector has been impacted, including the beauty industry. However one affordable company on a mission to alleviate the cost of looking good beauty brand Miss A is offering beauty products at affordable prices, Shannon starting at just $1. You know, I like the sound of that. So now to discuss gene bake, founder of Miss a Gene, good to have you here. Thanks so much for joining us. So tell us a little bit about the products you have in front of me and Shannon here, thank you. Well we have thousands and thousands of products that we brought, some of our best selling one. So this is a makeup remover washcloth so it helps women take off the makeup with just water and then this is a makeup sponge, but it's our top selling product customers say it is the most best affordable makeup for a dollar or a dollar and this is our, this is one sponge, but this is like our value pack. But yes, all of our prices are a dollar, you know, how can you ensure that they're getting the best bang for the buck with some of these things, especially when they're, you know, a dollar, people think oh they're gonna fall apart. I know people kind of thought that a lot in the beginning, but now we have so many loyal customers and we're, you know on social media, they give us great reviews and they do halls, you've seen like girls on youtube doing haul videos and they give us really good feedback. And now other people watch those videos and they're like, oh, I can actually trust these products. And so these, we have 5000 reviews on them on our website and even on amazon, so people know and what are these other last two products you have over here, eyelashes here, which is everyone's every girl's makeup dream, you know, for to buy them at this affordable price. Where in the market there anywhere between 5 to 10, you can get them at miss, safer there. And then the last one is acne patches. If you have an acne, you just put it on your face and then it helps bring it down. That is amazing. All still for a dollar. Yes, exactly. So how, so how are you able to basically get it in for a dollar? And as a result, you think more people are interested in the product because it's so cheap, I think so we we do only direct to consumer. So our products are found on Mrs website and through our retail stores, brick and mortar stores that are throughout texas, you know, new Mexico. And so we cut out all that, you know, markup that goes in between like there's no distributors, there's no wholesalers, we go direct from us to the consumer. So, you know, in the beauty industry, there's a really big bubble and there's a lot of markup that happens within the product all the way until it gets to the consumer. And so we try to cut all that out and we save money on packaging as you can tell. It's very minimal. And you know, we just kind of put them in cute bags or simple packaging to save important right now with inflation going up. As you mentioned. Has it been hard to navigate those roads and say, you know, should we make it go up a dollar 20? That's a good question because even like a lot of places like the dollar stores are now over a dollar. Yeah, yeah. We um, it has been hard this year, well since last year with everything going up, but we decided not, we're not gonna pass down, you know, the increases to our customers. And so we're trying to keep everything still a dollar. And now Miss says become the place where customers to turn to to buy product when you know, they're trying to cut back on their spending at more expensive places, they'll turn to miss a so you don't see foresee having to increase the price on any of these things, at least for the long term. That's interesting. Okay, I want to go to want to do stories and what other stuff do you have? What other types of products and stuff were a beauty lifestyle brand? So a lot of makeup and skincare, but we also do accessories, we do makeup, we do, or we do earrings, necklaces, we do home decor, we have over 10,000. So there is something for everyone and say yeah and you mentioned Tiktok earlier, people doing their hacks and stuff. How has have you seen that help? I can imagine actually during the pandemic is when Tiktok started going viral for us and we didn't even know it was going viral until we found out. And someone was like, hey jean look there's you know a miss a video. But you know girls when they were at home they would buy stuff from Miss A and then do Tiktok videos and show off you know these products and now we have hundreds of millions of views. So social media has really been sort of a huge boon for you in terms of marketing out a lot of these products here. Yes, yes. An organic marketing through social media. That is awesome. Would you have a favorite product? The blender blender obviously because that's the one everybody's all obsessed with you And I go through so many blenders, we might as well. Thanks to jean bag.
