Blue check marks are coming to Instagram and Facebook. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday announced the expansion of a premium subscription service for $11.99 per month on the web and $14.99 on mobile. The service launched in Australia and New Zealand last month.
“Meta Verified is rolling out in the US today,” he said. “You can get a badge, proactive impersonation protection and direct access to customer support.”
Users will need to be 18 years old to sign up and complete a verification process using a government-issued photo ID and set up two-factor authentication.
The service will come with proactive account monitoring designed to provide extra security against impersonation and the ability to speak directly with customer service professionals.

The push higher for Amazon’s stock market valuation comes a little more than a week after Nvidia hit $3 trillion and briefly became the most valuable company on Wall Street. Nvidia’s chips are used to power many AI application and its valuation has soared as a result. Amazon has also been making big investments in AI as global interest has grown in the technology. Most of the company’s focus has been on business-focused products.
