Mexico's President Says Migrant Influx Due to U.S. Sanctions

Mexico's president blamed the influx of migrants traveling to the US border on US imposed sanctions. President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said about 10,000 migrants make the journey to the US border every single day. He said the uptick of migrants traveling to the border was caused by US imposed sanctions on countries like Cuba and Venezuela. A large percentage of migrants who make the journey are said to be from those countries. The US has sanctioned Cuba and Venezuela over what it refers to as suppression of democracy. Many migrants say the dire political and economic conditions in their home countries have led them to make the journey to the US border.
