Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar, and Beyoncé all have announced album releases this summer, and Miss Diddy, the CEO of The Brand Group, joined Between Bells to discuss all the recent releases from some of music’s biggest stars. She especially dives into Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé’s releases, which are two of the most anticipated new albums since they have both been away from the music spotlight for the last few years. Beyond new albums, Miss Diddy discussed the upcoming award show season and who she expects to make a splash.

It's really hard to believe that even more new music is on the way. If that wasn't enough to get you excited, you have a V M A S. The MTV EMA is coming back this summer in full force and joining us on set to discuss is Miss Didi, executive officer of the brand group, is the welcome welcome. Hello. Hello. So there's so much new music to talk about. We have to ask though, what's the most anticipated album in your opinion? I mean, Kendrick Lamar for me, but let's be honest, Beyonce Beyonce. Yeah, and how excited are you for it? Given the fact that we already have the track listing, we already have sort of the vinyl cover work for all of this. What are the sort of big surprise, do you think we'll get on friday? She's the Queen of a Rollout, right? She's the Queen of the Rollout of music, of visuals, of this feeling, this anticipation. So honestly, for me, anything with the drake on there, I think it's gonna be with Drake, Pharrell Williams, Like that's sort of an amazing group of people that potentially going to be on this thing. What tracks are you really looking forward to hear? Whatever the one is with Drake. Okay, Farrell to, I love anything that Farrell produces. So I'm sure it's gonna be out of this world and beyond that we haven't heard before, Let's talk Liz. Oh, by the way, has a song that she says she hasn't slept with Drake which is one of my favorite ones that she has, her album has been amazing. What is what is your reaction been to lizzo success on this? Because I feel like there's already like five or six like huge hits that are on this album already, you know, I love Lizzo in general, right? She represents this community of like beautiful, bold women that are so about themselves and living out loud and so all of her music to me speaks to that. So, I'm with that any time let's talk about Kendrick Lamar, new album going on tour. What do you think about the album? And do you think he could take home a Grammy next year? He has to take home a Grammy has to take home Vm if he has to take home everything, He took some time off and really perfected his craft even better, which we didn't even know we could see. And now he comes with this really bold um work of art, really a real work of art and poetry. So many, yes, every album, but he took it to the next level with this one I think and he's hitting so many strong points. So I think he should take home everything. Okay, so Kendrick Lamar performed, We were just talking about rolling loud festival over the weekend, kid Cudi was there for a brief moment before he left that stage, which by the way, I totally sympathize with what he did me to also Kanye performed there as well. Any other standout performances that you noticed from that festival. You know what? I love a city girl performance, so fun. I saw them at Coachella. They are so much fun, I never heard of them before and I was so no way you have to get into your your for sure. No, I was into, it was like everybody was losing their minds with city girls. Oh they're so good, the costumes are great, they're big, they're fun. So I'm city girls all doing. Speaking of shows and concerts, let's talk about chris brown and you can't deny what a talent he is not a voice he has, what a great dancer he is. He's one of them, one of them once tour where he was allegedly charging $1000 for a meet and greet. Have you seen the pictures? He's like hugging up on him? Like prom picture $1000 for that. Why not charging far? He's giving them good love and hugs, why not pay 1000 it's not the first artist to do this all the time and it makes so much dreams come, Why not pay? I mean look, if you have the opportunity, look, nobody's complained about it. Yes keep going. So next month the MTV VMS are back which always are like the most insane, most fun party on the planet. We have the videos from Doja Cat that are basically gonna be there Harry styles as well. Any other potential artist that we should keep our eyes out that can do really, really well. And I know we keep saying this to Kendrick Lamar, he's gonna perform if he's gonna do anything that has to do with the V. M. A. S. He's going to come with it. We've seen fire, we've seen water. We've seen him dress up in different ways. It's just it's gonna be a time, you know, the pandemic has changed the scheme the way music is altogether. What changes do you think are here to stay when it comes to music going into the next year? Music in general, because we need it its soul, its for our souls, right? It's how we universally speak to each other. It's the one thing that connects us all as people. So I think marketing with music is always gonna stay because people have to be fed, they need the anticipation. They need to be happy and excited for it. So turns definitely social media, marketing campaigns, things like that. That's gonna always be here with me, who is the artist we're talking about by the end of the year. Oh, Jack Harlow is having a good year. I loved God very much sexiness. And you know, he's doing white man. Can't jump to say that I was over at the set in Los Angeles show. Yeah, it's gonna be great.
