MeltWater was started in 2001 by Jorn Lyseggen. The Founder and CEO of Meltwater invested $15,000 of his own money at the time, and now the company has grown into a 1,500-person data analytics company that is taking on industry giants like Neilsen. MeltWater has acquired five A.I. companies in the last year to continue pushing its digital monitoring service, and to distinguish its product from other accessible options, like Google alerts. Lyseggen joins Cheddar and explains why he is not worried about Neilsen, and why he thinks their new model still misses the mark.
