The race to get autonomous vehicles on the road across the U.S. is intensifying. This week, Motional, a driverless technology company, and ride-hailing giant Lyft announced their plans to launch a robotaxi service in several major American cities beginning in 2023. The two companies have already been working together for three years on a pilot program in Las Vegas. Motional CEO Karl Iagnemma and Raj Kapoor, Lyft's Chief Strategy Officer and Head of AV Business, say this is a major step forward for the industry as the companies transition from research to road.
