Musician Ryan Cabrera Performs New Single 'Worth It'

Black Friends Between Bells, you know, our next guest is that musician behind that mega 2004 hit on the way down, but now he's making his comeback in the music world with the release of his first single in eight years earlier, I sat down with the musician Ryan cabrera discussed his music career and the inspiration behind his new song Worth It, which also performed in studio, Take a look, so Ryan, it's so good to have you here in studio, your new single worth It is now officially available to stream today finally, and I had saw on social media, you actually said this is your first song in eight years, single release in eight years. So what has taken eight years that this was sort of this big moment to sort of bring this out here, you know, it was just well between touring and like writing for other artists and doing that, that kind of stuff. I just wasn't, you know, there was nothing that I was like really inspired at that time to write about and I'm not the kind of like just go every day and see what kind of happens. I usually like have to be, you know, in the, in the, in the mood. And then I was inspired by something that happened and I just immediately went to the studio, let's talk about that inspiration. Clearly this song has a really sort of significance to you tell us the story about just what I met my wife and uh all of a sudden everybody could tell, like I was just a completely different person after that. And I was like, oh my God, I have an idea of her song and it's gonna be, you know, me telling my journey to meet, you know her and like kind of the stuff that I went through and had to go through to get there and how after all the, you know, the good, the bad, you know, the fun, the ugly after all those things at the end of the day, it was worth it because I got to meet you and that's kind of what sparked me to get back in the studio and write new stuff. And because other than that, I was just touring nonstop, just being on the road. I feel the most at home when I'm on tour so well, and you can listen to the song, you can see the heart that comes in this how you're really sort of got into this. And it's it's interesting because the music video for this is footage from your wedding also. So this is, it adds even more to the significance. That's why. Yeah, so I wrote this song a couple of years ago, but we kind of sat on it cause I was like, okay, you know, this this song is even better when you get to see, you know, the what it was really about and it was about me and lexi, you know, journey together. And so it wouldn't be right to me. Like if we just did like, you know, your typical, you know, music video with like a treatment, all kind of stuff. I was like, what if we use our real footage from our wedding kind of let people in on, you know, the one of the best days of our lives and then video came out. I mean, the song is so, so, so good. And you have so many fans out there dating all the way back to 2004 single on the way down. Still so many fans, people want to know, are we gonna be getting that new music from you? Maybe album any other? Well, yeah, after writing worth it kind of sparked all these other ideas and then we just hit the studio and all of a sudden next thing I know like, oh wait, I think we have enough for an album and I haven't put out a record since been underwater in 2008, actual album, an ep, I think in 2014. But um you know, I'm the kind of person, I want to do it when the time is right, I don't want to just like throw stuff out there, just throw it out there and I'm so glad I did to get um now I get to come out with this about like where I'm at in my life now and um, you know, my, my amazing wife. So it's like, it's so, it means so much more because, you know, writing love songs in the past, you know, it was about other random stuff and now I'm like, no, this one's about this is this is coming straight from the heart and I know our audience is going to love this so much.
