Musk Claps Back About Tesla Autonomous Driving System

meanwhile, Elon musk is clapping back at Tesla owners criticizing the latest beta version of the E V makers, advanced driver assistance system. The Tesla ceo taking to twitter of course to respond to one critic who voiced concern about control issues, musk said the version is quote in limited release for a reason, please do not ask to be included in early beta releases and then complain. The new system isn't actually a full self driving process though it still requires drivers to stay alert and be able to take control of the vehicle at any time. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating several crashes involving Tesla's autopilot system, some of which were fatal. So my first thought here, Kristen is defensive, probably not the way to go, especially when there are valid concerns and investigations going on around this programming and the release of this new beta program. I'm wondering what you think though, if you do think it is appropriate because my first uh, you know, kind of take away from this is that it really is appropriate if you are a part of a beta program to sound off and sometimes a part of that transparency is going to media with your concerns. I recently thought about very different situations here, but meta with a lot of their beta tests of their metaverse programs and one of the women who was part of the beta test was talking about the harassment she experienced. Um, and maybe because it didn't go through the chain of command when she raised the first red flag. So again, really different experience when you talk about the metaverse versus driving, but in this case lives are potentially at stake, You know, I would think for anyone who wants to pay for a product or be associated with anything use anything safety would want to be one of the basic pillars that you would expect, right. Um and so I think it is right for those who don't feel safe to sound the alarm and I would think a ceo with real leadership would once actually the users and consumers of its products certainly too feel safe. But I think that you made a really good point asia at the end of that story which is that for this semiautonomous feature that Tesla has offered for years now there are some serious investigations currently underway because of fatal crashes and so you know, I think the big takeaway from these stories that we've done over the years is beware, be careful um and maybe be in control, take try to take more control behind the wheel if you're if you're heading on the side of not Yeah, I think we've all realized of course we want to get to the point where we're one day sitting in cars and we don't have to worry about actually operating them, but that is just simply the future. It's not the current reality. So while we want that we're still taking baby steps to that reality
