"National Day of Solidarity" Held By Actors and Writers Unions Amid Strikes

We're starting with some news on the strike. Members of the actors and Writers Unions held a national day of solidarity. Today, the Actors Union S Ara said labor union members nationwide and across industries would also participate. It included a rally outside Disney Studios in Los Angeles where celebrities like Martin Sheen, Kerry Washington, Bob Odenkirk and Ron Perlman joined the union said quote in the summer of strikes, working Americans everywhere are fighting for fair contracts, better compensation, safe working conditions and protections from encroaching technology. The Writers Guild of America has been on strike since May 2nd while the Actors Union has been striking since July 14.
