I'm meteorologist Samantha with your latest chatter weather update while the heat is on again. Today, we have that extreme heat. It just continues here in Texas temperatures in the triple digits and look at how far north that heat extends all the way up into the Dakotas and parts of Canada by Saskatchewan where temperatures well into the eighties and nineties and you have that heat across the southeast as well where we just cannot get a break. Now, most of us will have quiet weather today, but something that we're watching in the coming days is Hurricane Hillary that will be tracking to the north into southern California bringing lots of rainfall. By early next week, we could be talking about 5 to 8 inches of rain in some locations. So today around the northeast, the storms are moving out in the Midwest. It's hot but it's quiet. We have that sunshine, no stormy weather today, even on Sunday, Saturday and Sunday looks quite quiet here. So setting the stage for a nice weekend, a little bit cooler, less humid across parts of the east. We are keeping our eye on Hurricane Hillary. You can clearly see it here, all of that rain moving into Baja California. Southern California, near L A here, just off to the west where you're picking up a ton of rainfall. This is Sunday into Monday and early next week. Meanwhile, we just have that heat dome here in the Midwest where it's going to be sunny and very hot. So today, 83 in New York City storms will be ending and in the afternoon it gets cooler. Buffalo, 64. So you could see that cool pool of air. It's the complete opposite. In the south 90 Orlando, we have those pop up storms in the afternoon. The pink and purple colors show you that extreme heat from New Orleans to Dallas and Houston today as hot as 110 degrees. Same thing in Vegas again over 100 degrees. 96 in Salt Lake City with sunshine Seattle looks great. We'll be getting ready for that rainfall in parts of California today where for the most part it's not too bad. Lower elevations. Temperatures are topping out in the seventies.
