basketball legend. Scottie pippen's continued love for the game is now going digital recently announcing a collaboration of N. F. T sneakers with Web Three Entertainment company Orange Comet called the Scottie pippen 33 collection. It's inspired by the Hall of Famers incredible legacy, uniting one of the greatest NBA players of all time with fans in innovative ways. So joining me now is Scottie pippen himself. Six time NBA champion and David Broome ceo of Orange comment down here on the floor of the new york stock exchange guys, it's great to see you scotty will start with you. How did this partnership come about? Wow, that's amazing. You know I've been studying the N. F. T. Market for the past couple of years and uh I just one day just call up my agent and ask how do I get involved and how can I resurface in the N. F. T. Market? And just so happened uh my agency represents uh Dave here and uh it was an easy connection and the relationship has just been growing over the last few years and we have some exciting things. Very cool. I dave I want to get your take as well. It sounds like according to scotty it was a pretty easy connection. What do fans get with one of these N. F. T. S. Well get to actually go into the metaverse the the Web three space with a legend and that doesn't happen often now. I mean it's really a special opportunity. We're creating 1000 unique one of one N. F. T sneakers. Just like scotty who had his legendary sneaker line through the years with Nike now we're bringing it into the metaverse. So fans get to take these collectibles and not only just have them for themselves and be able to use them as collectibles but they really get to use them in the metaverse. And what that really means is they can put them onto their avatars in games like roadblocks or Fortnite. So there's real purpose behind what we're building at Orange Comet scotty. What makes for a good sneaker in the metaverse wow Well I think you have to have a great designer and I think I definitely have that my team has been working very hard and doing something very unique. I think that's something that Orange Comet has really brought to the surface here is that this is gonna be a unique and very different projects. So I'm excited about it and I'm excited really to to the public and that it's true you know it's about content like there's no difference our perspective you know I come from tv and film as a producer for 25 years and we got into this space because we we knew that we needed to bring production quality and storytelling into Web three and so at the end of today fans get engaged and they get excited about the content and that's what we're doing at Orange comment is to really deliver Hollywood style kind of content and that's what led us with scotty. He was really enthusiastic about this space. Really interested and we were able to jump on that. So obviously this is mostly a digital component and N. F. T. Collectible. Is there a physical element to it as well for top fans? It's a great question and thanks for that because yes there is what's super exciting. There's this new buzzword I guess in web three called phage. It'll which is a blend between physical and digital. So while we're selling 1000 of these N. F. T. S. The digital N. F. T. S. 33 lucky fans we know why that number 33 are going to actually get a physical prototype, a real shoe that they can hold onto. Which was no doubt going to be a collector's item and hopefully one day even become the next Scottie pippen real sneaker line that evolves. So yes there's a physical aspect to this as well. The physicality I think. So important to just to tie the audiences together, scotty. Are you still playing basketball these days? And what makes for a good shoe on the court? Oh wow. Well I don't really play, I got a few boys that I kind of help pushed along through the game but I kind of gave up the game but I'm still excited about the game and all the things that around the game. So that's why I'm still in involved. He's dribbling a golf ball these days. That's where you're gonna find him on the golf course. Not surprised to see that. I know it's such a popular sport among former athletes. Big time athletes. That is my next question is, when do these collectibles become available? They become available live on december 20th on open C. Which is, you know, a great platform. And marketplace fans right now can actually go and join an allow list, which gives them an opportunity to come in and get early access and they can go to Scottie pippen N. F. T. S dot com. It's Scottie pippen N. F. T. S with an S. Dot com and join the allow list. So they have the opportunity to kind of pop onto it. Um It's very limited. It's exclusive. It's only 1000. Um but they are affordable and we're looking to really build on this for the fan base. We really want to um you know, appeal to scotty's fans and millions of fans around the world. Well, let's talk about what might be next in the building blocks? Obviously, the opportunities are endless when it comes to Web three. When it comes to N. F. T. S scotty. Is this just sort of the first domino to fall here and what you're trying to build out in the metaverse and on Web three. Yeah. I mean this is the first of many things that we're gonna be introduced into the market. Uh we're excited and we want to get everyone excited before we launch our first set of shoes but we we believe that we've figured out the N. F. T. Space and we're looking forward to you know really introducing the shoes and to tag up on you know what we're doing is we're building a meta wear vertical within the company and around scotty. So the digital wearables that space is so ripe and you know sitting here on the Wall street, you know the floor of the stock exchange, if you're talking about the Guccis and Pradas of the world and real massive fashion companies that are moved into the web three space in a big way and that's exactly what we're doing in Orange Comet. All these kinds of interesting kal abs that start with scotty and next you know you might be looking at Scottie pippen jerseys that your avatars can wear and this is not like fairy dust stuff, this is live and real that's happening right now. It needs to be dumbed down a little bit. I think people get scared and they're like well where do I go to the metaverse? You know they just there's a lot of onboarding that's still taking place right now but it's a very exciting future and a Blockchain technology is the real deal? Yeah well scotty, these are shoes, I mean do you have a favorite basketball player these days. Do you watch religiously. Yeah I got a son that plays in the G league right now. He's in a two way but you know, I'm a fan of the game and I still like watching the best players play and the best teams play. But obviously my son, I'm a huge fan of his. I'm sure he's happy to hear that David a question to you as well. And scotty way into if you want to hear every day, you know, we cover the crypto collapse, we've seen a collapse in the N. F. T. Market as well. So the stock market down here on the floor of the stock exchange has been underperforming all year long. There a lot of factors at play, but a lot of growth companies in particular are underperforming. And we see in some cases in the digital world, you know, instances of frauds and scams and things of that nature. So how do you ensure that by making this purchase by making this investment that consumers really are getting the real deal? It's a great question. Look, this is just the dot com of the nineties done all over again. We remember the early days of the internet, it was the same thing early, you know, adapters came into it. There was a lot of, you know issues and there were some scams and pretenders and bad actors in this space and that's what you're seeing right now in web three, but this bear market has really pushed a lot of that out. And the real come the real place of real unicorns are not just surviving this but thriving through this. So for us, an orange comet, the security in the background and our whole tech team and we've got an entire team internally that's working everything from game design to tech design Dante Fiorini is our chief creative officer, doing amazing work on our on our stuff and everything that we do is really for the future. We're building a Web three entertainment company. Like I've been telling everybody, you know, my background is obviously intelligent film production. I created. The biggest loser is maybe not the reddest words to say down here on the stock market floor today, but uh executive producer, but we built the very high end three D to design team. And the goal for us, an orange comedy is look, we're not going to become the next Disney because there's only one of them in the world, but we're sure as heck gonna try and that is what fans and buyers and enthusiasts need when they're getting involved in a company. What's the fundamental with that company? Is it a legit company? Can they feel comfortable in the longevity of the project? Like what we're talking about with scotty here, that project's got legs, it's not just a one off. It's you know that the fundamental behind the company that's backing this is here to stay and look it's a roller coaster ride. We're in a nascent industry right now, but an exciting one. But scotty you're on board, right? Oh, 100% onboard. Alright guys, I couldn't I couldn't find a better teammate. Uh he's passing me the ball, I'm gonna have to give it back to him quickly, but you know, but but if he wasn't so authentically enthusiastic and involved, we would not want to touch it. And I think that the part of that the credibility is critical to the partnerships. You know, we just launched the Anthony Hopkins Sir, Anthony Hopkins project. We sold that out in seven minutes and Tony Anthony is a vital part of that. He was just like scotty wanting to learn about Web three, wanting to get engaged in what, you know, N. F. T S R.
