  • Plane Crash: An Ethiopian Airlines 737 crashed minutes after taking off from the Ethiopian capital, killing all 157 people on board, including eight Americans. The cause of the crash is unknown but this is the second Boeing 737 Max 8 to go down in months. A Lion Air 737 crashed in Indonesia in October, killing 189. Read more here.

  • Turbulence: Thirty people were injured when a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to New York City hit severe turbulence. Passengers were treated for bruises and cuts, and a flight attendant suffered a broken leg. Read more here.

  • North Korea: New satellite imagery appears to show North Korea is preparing for “the delivery of a rocket.” The images were published by the Center for Strategic and International Studies. President Trump has said he’d be “very disappointed” if the country is preparing for the launch of a rocket. Read more here.

  • Travel Change: Starting in 2021, Americans flying to the EU will be required to apply online for authorization and pay an $8 fee. Officials say it’s because of terrorism and migration concerns. The application, which the EU says is NOT a visa, will be valid for three years. Read more here.

  • R. Kelly: Latest: R. Kelly is out of jail and facing a new accusation: a Pennsylvania man says he found a VHS tape appearing to show the singer sexually abusing girls. Kelly’s attorney denies it’s his client. An anonymous person paid the $161,000 the singer owed in back child support in order to spring Kelly from jail. Read more here.

  • R. Kelly: Ratings: Gayle King’s CBS Primetime special with the singer was a hit with viewers, with more than 6 million people tuning in on Friday. It was the most-watched show that night. Read more here.

  • NFL Trade: Antonio Brown is going to the Raiders. The Steelers agreed to finally trade the star wide receiver to Oakland, who will pay him $50 million over three years. Read more here.

  • J-Rod Engagement: Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are getting hitched. A-Rod announced the news on Instagram, with a photo of a very large ring on Lopez’s hand and the caption: “she said yes ♥️.” See the pic here.

  • Elton: Elton John is releasing an autobiography in October, months after his forthcoming biopic hits theaters. The singer describes his life as “one helluva roller coaster ride.” Read more here.

  • Captain Marvel: Fans at a New Jersey movie theater waiting to see "Captain Marvel" opening weekend got a surprise when they found Brie Larson, who plays the title role, manning the concession stand. The latest Marvel film took in a massive $153 million at the box office. See the pic here.

  • Selfie Gone Wrong: An Arizona woman was mauled by a jaguar at the zoo after hopping a barrier to get close enough to take a selfie. The zoo director said the animal will not be euthanized because it “was not the animal's fault and they would never harm an animal based on human behavior." Read more here.
