  • Parkland Arrest: The former Broward County sheriff’s deputy who stayed outside during the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last year has been arrested and charged with child neglect, culpable negligence and perjury for failing to intervene in the attack. Scot Peterson is facing a total of 11 charges in a highly unusual case of law enforcement being held criminally liable for failing to protect the public. CNN.

  • Mexico Tariffs: Republicans in Congress are deeply opposed to President Trump’s proposed tariffs on Mexico, and they’re making their displeasure known. Some GOP senators are threatening an open revolt if the tariffs are put into effect, saying they amount to a tax on American consumers and businesses. The first five percent tariff is set to go into effect next week and President Trump said Republicans would be “foolish” if they tried to stop it. Politico.

  • Cuba Cruise Ban: Travel to Cuba just got much more difficult for Americans, following new bans imposed by the Trump administration. Cruise ships departing from the U.S. to the island as well as trips known as “people to people” travel are now prohibited, as are most private planes and boats. AP.

  • Manafort in Solidarity: President Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort will reportedly be transferred to New York City’s notorious Rikers Island jail, where he is likely to be put into solitary confinement while he faces state fraud charges. Manafort is currently serving time in federal prison in Pennsylvania for conspiracy and financial fraud. NY Times.

  • Nutella Strike: Workers at Nutella’s largest factory have been on strike for weeks and are now blocking production of the delicious spreadable snack while they demand a pay raise. Nutella maker Ferrero says it has enough reserve stock to prevent a global shortage -- for now, at least. Yahoo.

  • Instagram Influencers: Get ready to see more “influencers” on your Instagram feed, whether you follow them or not. It’s happening by way of advertisers, who will now be posting “branded content ads” with users they pay to promote brands on social media. The posts will come with a “paid partnership with” tag and will appear in both feeds and stories. CNBC.

  • Tennis Titans: One of the greatest rivalries in professional sports is back. Roger Federer will face Rafael Nadal in the French Open semifinal on Friday. It’ll be the first time the two have met on the clay court of Roland Garros since 2011. Nadal is 5-0 against Federer at the French Open, a tournament he’s won 11 times. At 37, Federer is the oldest French Open semifinalist since 1968. AP.

  • Tracey Morgan Accident: Tracy Morgan’s $2 million Bugatti Veyron was sideswiped in New York City just minutes after he drove it off the lot. The accident came almost five years to the day since the crash that left the comedian seriously injured. Morgan tweeted that he’s OK.   • RiRi’s Millions: Jay-Z may be a billionaire, but Rihanna has her own bragging rights: she’s now the richest female musician in the world. According to Forbes, Rihanna’s fortune amounts to $600 million and comes not from concert tickets or record sales, but from her Fenty Beauty line and her recent collaboration with French luxury giant LVMH.   • Jeopardy! Quiz: James Holzhauer took Jeopardy! by storm -- coming within about $58,000 of Ken Jennings’s record-breaking winnings $2,520,700. While Holzhauer answered most questions correctly during his 33-game run, he did get some wrong. Would you have known the answers? Take the quiz.
