With insight from a recent polling project from the education nonprofit corporation, Gen Z is comprised of about 70 million americans roughly between the ages of 15 and 25. It is the most ethnically and racially diverse generation in american history and is by far the most progressive. For example, even republicans, sumers are more likely than older generations to believe in things like racial equity or to care about climate change. One of the most important things when we talk about the politics of a particular group is to establish what the group's most important issues are. And gen Z actually has a unique set Topping the list is stopping school shootings. With 82% of respondents saying it is very important that's followed up in the top five by protecting access to clean water and fresh air, reducing gun violence and mass shootings guaranteeing a quality education for every child and preserving individual rights and freedoms. All those issues command solid majority or even super majority support in this generation. They're also very specific and show the unique stress this generation feels about gun violence and climate change. The last thing worth mentioning is gen Z's trust in institutions and its super low murmur rations, polling shows the vast majority of generation Z doesn't believe major companies, the government or elected officials understand them or their values. So when it comes down to it, gen Z doesn't feel seen or heard by the institutions at the foundation of our social fabric baker Alicia a little bit alarming. So Megan, if gen Z is losing faith in institutions including government, elected officials, does this show kind of disenchantment with democracy in general? It's a great question. And the admiration survey found that while gen Z is losing faith in government and politics overall, they still believe in democracy and the power of coming together to fight for something better. The survey found that two thirds of gen Z agreed that the challenges we face are so great that they have to engage and try to solve them, which is about the same as both millennials. A Grubhub plus subscription usually costs about 100 and $20 a year for free delivery. The Prime deal does away with the fee for orders over $12.
