And let's start on a serious note here. Civil rights leaders turning to southern California. That's where a police officer shot and killed a black man who was running away from them. And we will warn you this video you're about to watch is very disturbing. You're gonna be okay man. Hey hey you're gonna be okay. Stay with me. Okay. I want to get out. We got many now that shooting happened on saturday in san Bernardino California 23 year old rob Marcus Adams died at the hospital. Police just now released that body cam footage of the shooting. Authorities say that they went to that parking lot after receiving reports of a man carrying a gun which they say they recovered from Adams, the San Bernardino Police Department and the district attorney are both conducting investigations. You know baker, I'm from San Bernardino. So that video really hits close to home. On another note, the World Health Organization is holding a second emergency meeting about monkeypox outbreak today. They're meeting to decide if monkeypox should be classified as a global health emergency. The W. H. O. Voted against this nearly one month ago. Now they decided to take a second look at their previous ruling as global cases. Rise to put in perspective at the last W. H. O. Meeting Global cases were about 4000. Now there are over 14,000 more than 2000 the US alone a little later in the show, we'll speak with a virologist to find out exactly what's at ST A movement in Congress this week to codify same sex and interracial marriages hit a roadblock in the Senate. But there is hope here. Earlier this week, the bill passed the house with only 47 Republicans crossing party lines to push the bill through. However, senators on both sides of the aisle are saying that they expect the bill to receive the 60 votes needed to bypass the filibuster. Senate Majority leader chuck schumer said he wants to bring that bill to a vote very soon, but he didn't set a specific date for it. Lawmakers hit their august recess in two weeks. That means it's unlikely we'll see a vote before then. And the world of politics waking up this morning to the final january 6th hearing. For now, our aerial Hixon live in Washington to bring us more on what's said to be a blockbuster hearing. All focused on that 187 minutes of inaction by former president trump on january 6th. Good morning, Ariel Good morning baker. While the House january 6th committee is holding its final hearing. Well, at least for now tonight, in primetime. So of course we have to break down what you can expect all eyes will be on the committee. The committee will zero in on the 187 minutes between the end of president trump's speech at the ellipse and the point where he ultimately took action to stop the mob of his supporters, ransacking the capitol aides to the select committee told reporters on Wednesday that the committee will lay bare trump's inaction in the crucial hours during the attack. The committee hasn't confirmed witnesses officially but we know who will be here. We'll hear from based on several reports from multiple outlets we're expecting to hear from two live witnesses. In addition to the committee's usual video testimony, we got Matthew Pottinger, the former deputy national security adviser, and Sarah Matthews, a former deputy press secretary. We have seen video testimony from both of them at some point earlier in the committee's other hearings. Now both Pottinger and Matthews were in the White House during the capitol attack and get this. They resigned later on that same day. Both of them could be in a position to shine more light on president trump's conduct during those crucial hours during the attack and confirmed pieces of testimony that we've already heard from other witnesses like former Mark Meadows aid Cassidy Hutchinson. This is poised to be a truly blockbuster hearing tonight. Well Ariel, it feels like these hearings are going on and on and on. When is really the last actual hearing for the January six committee? That's such a great question Alicia, we know that this is the last hearing for now. Committee members and staff have stressed throughout this process that the committee's investigation is ongoing and they haven't really put any part kind of expiration date on its work. So there's potential for future hearings if the committee uncovers anything worth sharing in this kind of public format. But as of now we have no indication about when that might happen again. The electric vehicle maker also announced they sold 75% of their Bitcoin purchases. Also, it's looking like gas prices might have finally peaked this summer. Thank goodness. We've seen many pump prices declining over the last month and they're expected to drop even lower, potentially below $4 a gallon in some places, experts and analysts are saying average gas prices may have peaked last month and are not likely to go back up unless there's a major disruption like a spike in oil prices. The national average for unleaded gas was $4.46 a gallon Wednesday. The high was an average of a little over $5 a gallon back on june 14th that, according to Triple A. Finally, a union seeking to organize workers at a, Chipotle filed an official complaint with the National Labor Relations Board that after the chain said that they would permanently close a unionizing location. However, chipotle is saying that that location, which is in Augusta Maine, had been closed since June 17 due to ongoing staffing issues. It was the chain's first location to file for a union election seeking to organize themselves under chipotle United, now spokesperson for chipotle, denied the closure was due to that union petition.
