A new study shows Alzheimer's disease is most common in the United States, eastern and southeastern regions. This new data out yesterday from the Alzheimer's Association International Conference shows the prevalence of the disease broken down by location. The data shows the highest rate of Alzheimer's are in Miami Dade County, Florida Baltimore and the Bronx in New York. In each of these locations, an estimated one in six seniors have the disease on an overall state level. The highest number with the disease are in Maryland, New York. Then Mississippi researchers hope this information will help public health officials better support millions with the disease and plan for the aging population.
