Just one dose of a new medication being tested, lowers the risk of heart disease up to 94%. This according to a new study out from the Cleveland Clinic, the medication called Lipo Tozan from Eli Lily targets lipoprotein a, a protein in the body that is linked to heart disease. The medication makes lipoprotein a undetectable for 48 weeks. Researchers are particularly excited by the study's results because lipoprotein A cannot be reduced by diet or exercise. Heart disease is the world's number one cause of death. And researchers are hopeful that an annual vaccine type inject injection of the medication could be available one day to lower the risk for millions.
