Common ground raised $25 million in a new funding round led by check Point software along with the funding common ground is announcing a beta version of its avatar software, the startup says the technology allows people to create three dimensional avatars in real time by using their smartphones to scan their faces. Now. Common ground also wants to help people meet in true life in the metaverse. The startup will soon release a meeting feature which will allow people to meet in virtual rooms and interact with other avatars. Can you share some more details about how common ground is trying to deliver immersive three D meetings to everyone with no VR headset acquired. Absolutely, thank you for having me. So, common ground is a new immersive freedom meeting experience that basically brings back the intimacy and connection that we so much crave through digital meaning, we used to have it in face to face meeting but we kind of all lost it through the period of corona when we all started using zoom and digital meetings and if you compare what we do to the previous solutions, instead of looking, let's say if you meet three people in three different boxes on the screen, but you can actually do is see them sitting right in front of you in the mutual room around the table looking at you, you can create eye contact, you can see who's looking at who just like you see on the screen now and you can really get this thing together. Think of it as Fortnite and zoom blend into one. Now, can you talk about the process of how common ground allows people to use their iphone to scan their faces to create these avatars? Sure, so we just released as you pointed out the beta of the true self scan which allow people using nothing but their phone to scan themselves, they don't need any of the heart said or anything else to create their avatar. This is, we feel the most realistic Avatar you can create today using your phone and that enables you later on to enter the meeting room as you pointed out because the 1st 500 people that would use the scan and scan themselves would be then invited into the meeting room so they can meet their friends through the metaverse Now. Okay, so if I understand it, the 1st 500 people to create their avatar with common ground will also be invited to test your company's first three d meeting app. So can you share some more details about common grounds plans for this upcoming meeting feature? Yeah, you will get a state of the art really cool room that is modeling three D. The same technologies that pointed out as as the Fortnite and basically you would be able to see the hyper realistic people on the other side of the table. You can create eye contact, you can zoom in and focus on one person here for the three D. Audio, the person on the right saying something, turn your head and listen to them zoom out, See who's looking at who all the things that you enjoy in a face to face meeting and it's so badly missing from the digital connection are now being brought back and with software only know headset 10 minutes after you download, it you can enjoy and use it Now. A recent survey found that nearly 60% of people work remotely at least once a week. Now the pandemic has obviously increased the amount of time people spend at home and meeting online. So how can your technology like common ground offer people better connections in this new era of remote work. Exactly. So what happens? We all do an extent of remote workers right now, some of us work full time remote. Some of us work one day a week remote. And what the studies show us recently studies by victims is that they show that The vast majority of people prefer to work from home, but also two thirds of us feel disconnected and not as humanly bonding with the rest of it here as we're doing face to face. 50% of people working remotely feel that they hit the sitting there not being included or value dispatches people sitting in the room and actually write.
