Tito Martins, CEO of Nexa Resources, joins Cheddar right after bringing the Brazilian mining company public on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. The company priced at $16 and opened at $16.50. Martins said it's the first mining company IPO in almost 10 years. The company will use IPO proceeds to grow near-term projects, including another mine in Brazil. Nexa controls 5 operating mines and 3 smelters, and is in the top 5 of global zinc miners. Martins talk about how it will continue to outgrow its competitors. Plus, Zinc accounts for about 64% of Nexa's mine production. Where does he believe the demand is coming from? He says mainly Asia and India...and smaller countries surrounding China.
