Governor Kay Hoel sent a letter to the president to take urgent action as the migrants strain resources fill homeless shelters in New York which has put some Democrats in a vulnerable position for a state that is typically seen as immigrant friendly. She asked that the president expedite work permits for migrants and provide financial resources to help care for the roughly 100,000 asylum seekers who have entered the state in the past year.
