NYC Bans TikTok on Government Devices

New York City is banning tiktok on government owned devices. This follows several US cities and states that have put the same restrictions in place over security concerns tiktok which is owned by Chinese tech giant Bit Dance has faced calls from us lawmakers for a nationwide ban over concerns of possible Chinese government influence. The administration for New York City's mayor says the app posed a security threat to the city's technical network. Agencies are required to delete this app within 30 days and will lose access to the app and website on city owned devices and networks.
