Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan is one of the legendary U.S. female athletes involved with a new podcast focusing on the 1996 Summer Olympics. "Summer of Gold" features top U.S. athletes including gymnast Kerri Strug, tennis great Billie Jean King, and soccer pro Julie Foudy. Though Kwan competed in the 1998 Winter Olympics, she recalled the magic around women's athletics at the time while relating to today's competitors. When asked about gymnast Simone Biles, who bowed out of most of her events in the 2020 Tokyo Games due to mental health needs, Kwan told Cheddar, "Showing that vulnerability, it's a strength, and being honest with yourself is so important."
