She underwent over 20 surgeries over the, after the traumatic school shooting saying at the hospital for 66 days, not only because of her injuries but because of fear. This video shows Maya's departure from the university health Hospital in san Antonio with the staff celebrating, they were able to discharge their final patient from the you've all day shooting workers clapped as she handed out roses to each of them. Shortly after Maya was asked to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Houston Astros game during this game, She was also honored as the august hero of the month. She met two time all star player Carlos Carrera and had her spirits lifted by everyone in the stadium. But the surprises didn't stop there during the game, the Korea family and other donors shared an announcement that they would be financing the construction of a new home for the family. They said, quote, we have secured the funding to build Maya and her family a new home in a location where she feels safe and comfortable. We hope this will be an opportunity for Maya and her family to rebuild their lives, Make new memories and look towards a brighter future and Puerto Rican singer Bad bunny and his Good bunny Foundation provided funds to support the cause. Bad bunny also hosted Maya and her family to a V. I. P experience of his concert. We're all rooting for Maya and her family as they start this next chapter.
