A new pioneering drone lifeguard service recently rolled out across spanish beaches and it's already saving lives. At one Valencia Beach, a 14 year old boy was struggling against an aggressive tide. He was drowning and having a hard time getting back to the shore, The drone detected the young boy then dropped the life vest into the sea to be lowered straight towards him just to begin sinking beneath the waves. He struggled to grab hold of that vest. Miguel Angelo Pedreira, the drone pilot for general drones said quote when we arrived, what we saw was a kid that was in very bad shape with almost no energy to keep floating. So I sent over the life vest. He went on to explain that it was a complicated maneuver due to the intense waves, but that life vest managed to keep him afloat just long enough until lifeguards reached him by jet ski. A few moments later, once the team was rescued, ambulance personnel gave him oxygen and then sent him to a local hospital, he was able to return home 24 hours later And the rescue team with general drone, the firm that supplies the technology has accomplished many surveillance and rescue services with different lifeguard teams since the company launched back in 2017 In the past few days alone, they've saved four people with this technology and it plans to do the same for many others, as general drone now has over 30 pilots with lifeguards at 22 beaches across Spain. That is pretty cool.
