One Good Thing: Meet This 4-Legged Unlikely Recycling Advocate

we know the world can be tough sometimes with a seemingly endless stream of negativity. So to take a break, we'd like to tell you about one good thing happening in the world. Today is good thing highlights one unlikely recycling advocate, a 13 year old border collie meet scruff, he lives in Central England with his owners, Yvonne Faulkner Grant and her husband, David Grant. He usually goes on about two walks a day, one long walk in the morning, usually between three and four miles than a shorter mile or so walk in the evening. One of his favorite parts of those walks was always a good game of stick fetching with his owners. But as he got older, his vet recommended he stopped his hobby to avoid getting too scratched up on the inside of his mouth. So his owners made sure he cut that habit and to their surprise, he replaced it with a new habit and environmentally friendly one. So now instead of sticks, he collects plastic bottles he finds along his path. His owners say it's become a job and a passion for him and each bottle is like his own little trophy. At first they let scruff play with the bottles and then left them there, but eventually decided to pick up the plastic when they realized just how many bottles scruff was picking up. They kept track and shared it on social media with the hashtag screw bottle patrol on grand facebook page that's a lot of bottles in the month of november alone, he picks up 100 and four bottles, bringing his total to more than 1000 bottles. The pair has stored all of them in the backyard and are planning to tally it all up at the end of the year, his owners hope this sends out a good message to people around the world to pick up your own litter instead of leaving animals to do it.
