We know life can be tough sometimes. So we'd like to take a moment to share one good thing happening in the world today for a group of students in Washington DC. Their graduation ceremony was 70 years in the making. University is the largest school for deaf students in the country. And back in the 19 fifties, it was initially segregated until a number of court battles established a division for black deaf students. The students were still treated differently and despite attending class, they never received their diploma. That is until Saturday, the university held a graduation ceremony for 23 black students and four black teachers who were finally given the recognition they deserve. The university said Saturday's event is a significant part of Gala's ongoing commitment to acknowledge and own its past racial and educational injustices and congratulations to these graduates well deserved seven decades in the making.
