In August, the restaurant industry reeled from the impact of the COVID-19 delta variant, according to a report from the National Restaurant Association. Susan Lee, chief growth officer at online reservation service OpenTable, and Raj Mukherjee, SVP of product at job site Indeed, joined Cheddar to discuss the report’s findings that the industry is one million jobs below pre-pandemic levels while demand for service is ticking up. The pair also discussed a month-long, joint effort called Interview Days: Restaurant Jobs to help restaurants connect with workers amid the ongoing labor shortage.
