Opioid Overdose Drug to Be Available at Stores

The first over the counter drug to reverse opioid overdoses will be available in stores. By next week, the manufacturer said it was being shipped to drug store and grocery chains nationwide. The US Food and Drug administration approved Narcan in March after opioid overdoses in the US reached record deal high. Excuse me, Narcan is a nasal spray version of the drug naloxone which can revive a person from an overdose within minutes. Narcan will be available at all retail pharmacies including CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid and others. It will sell for about $45 for two doses of the drug.
