Frontier life is back! The hit educational game "Oregon Trail" is making a return to classrooms, thanks to Minecraft: Education Edition integration. Microsoft acquired Mojang, maker of Minecraft, for $2.5 billion in September 2014. Neal Manegold, Director of Minecraft Education, describes how teachers are using gaming to teach students. Minecraft: Education Edition launched in 2016, and is now available in 115 countries. Manegold says the new version of "Oregon Trail" gives educators the opportunity to teach frontier exploration in a fun way. The game includes 15 learning experiences that incorporates English language arts, math, science or visual arts topics. Students also have the ability to create their own journey within the game using the Code Builder feature. Manegold says, "with Minecraft there's really no limit except for time and education."
