Former Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius may be eligible for parole after serving half of his murder sentence. According to court documents, Pistorius was sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison for killing his then girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp in February of 2013. Pistorius shot Steenkamp through a bathroom door of his home in South Africa. Pistorius was reportedly eligible for parole in March under South African law but was denied early release over a miscalculation of when he began serving his sentence. The former Paralympian plans to appeal with the Constitutional Court in South Africa to get a new parole hearing.
