Protests Arise As Texas Proposes Control Of Houston Schools

It is one of the largest school district takeovers in history. Texas just took control of the Houston public schools. More than 200,000 students are in this district. The state's education commissioner accused the district of failing to provide proper special education services and of violating state and federal laws. Texas is a GOP led state.
