Study Shows Support for Gay Rights at All Time High Despite Lag in Legislative Changes

Dr. Natalie Jackson, director of research at the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), joined Cheddar to explain that support for gay rights in America is at an all-time high according to a study of 10,000 people. She said the plight of LGBTQ+ people has been humanized to more Americans in the last 10 to 15 years but also noted there is often a lag between public opinion and government. Jackson pointed to that inefficiency for why it could take longer for politicians to align with the larger American consensus.
