Qasim Rashid is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia's first district. He is a Pakistani immigrant and the first Muslim person ever to win a congressional primary in the state. Rashid has worked as a human rights lawyer to combat domestic violence and fight the persecution of religious minorities.
