Rapper Page Kennedy Talks New Album 'Front Page' 

Welcome back to Between Bells everyone. Our next guest is known for making people laugh both on social media and on the big screen. The page Kennedy is also known for his lyricism and love of music, his new album, Front Page is out now and filled with bar to bar lyrics, his fans know and love take a look, posit Kennedy, the Philippines and I wouldn't, yeah, it's him waiting to start money going. One way joining us now is actor and rapper page Kennedy, thank you so much for joining us. I have to point out some lines that really stand out here is desperate to be on the front page. Also, you know, a reference to your name, What was it like to release this album at this point in time, Especially given the fact that we can't deny the music industry is a really ageist one and you're not a teenager, you are exactly right about that. I'm not a teenager, I don't know, I mean, you know, I've been doing this for a very long time and um I just feel like uh when you make ageless music timeless music then it's something that is indelible and that you'll be able to listen to forever because stories never get old. I'm a Shakespeare kid. And so, you know, I like to create like music that that is um there for perpetuity, even though I'm not a teenager. Yeah, and it transcends you know, age and culture. I think there are so many people out there who have similar ambitions. So of course, I think this is such an accomplishment. I just mean it in a way that like you've achieved so much in your career. So you're at a very different point. Did you have to like dig dive deep and dig back into earlier on in your career when you were feeling a lot of these things now that you've accomplished much more. No, actually I just take whatever is prevailing um at the moment and I write about that, like, you know, I'm about to get right back into, you know, creating my next album for next year and you know, I'm dealing with stuff now and so I'm going to talk about that, you know, I do, I do heart back and and talk about childhood traumas or situations, but you know, I'm able to take what is happening right now. What is your favorite song off the album? Because you've mentioned it and described this new album as your best music to date. Is there a specific track that you really hold us like your favorite? I think my favorite now, I mean your favorites change right? You know, depending on your feeling, move, how many times you listen to it, But my favorite now just sound wise is group Check just because whenever it comes on, it just makes me happy, it makes me feel like moving and and whether I'm at the gym, whether I'm in the car, it doesn't matter. I just like, I love that, that that track so much from Group check, but that front page song, definitely, sorry, that front page song definitely, you know, it means a lot to me because it was a lot going on. Yeah, no problem. And I feel like, again, a lot of people can really resonate with that message right off the bat and also the visuals, I'm, I'm wondering, you know, is there some sort of sent two men that you hope that people take away from this or maybe even feedback that you've gotten from fans already because you have a following from many of your different projects, but also from your music. Is there something that you realize a lot of people are really gravitating towards when it comes to this album? Um, well, you know, when I say this, this is my best album today, I meant sonically because you know, I'm typically like a bar wrapper where you know, it's bar heavy a story is content um, and concepts. Um, but this song has like at least half of the album are like easy listening songs that are palatable, palatable to everybody. You know, that just feels good that you can play in any circumstance and situation. And so, um, but I still have, you know, the music for the core audience, like the song, the audition, you know, which is like the storytelling of my personal life. You also just wrapped shooting, you know, to pivot your acting career on meg to in Thailand and we know that film has such a big following. What was that production like and um, what can you tease for fans? The production was amazing. It was bigger, better, faster, funnier. Um, we shot in London and Thailand um, and uh, it was just like the most incredible thing that I've been able to be a part of. Um, and the only thing I think that I could uh tease for fans is that, you know, there's, there's more antagonist than just the meg this time and one more question before we let you go, you've obviously been keeping really busy with music and also acting. But a lot of your fans know you from your viral social media videos and um, your comedy. Why do you prioritize social media? Even when you have a bunch of other things going on with your music and acting careers, I like my feet to be in all the fires. I like to do it all, you know, and my social media is like a page Kennedy page. So when I'm playing DJ and the meg or duct in the upshaw's, those are characters that are creating for me that I bring into life. You know, when I'm doing my music that comes from me from nothing to something that I created but my funny videos is like my humor and and uncensored and what I like and and what I think and deemed to be funny and plus I'm able to uh, you know, integrate my, my kids in it as well to, you know, start start off their legacy page, Kennedy rapper and actor.
