The sneaker game has drastically changed over the last few years as rare releases find themselves only available through lotteries or the exponentially marked-up resale market. To some, investing in sneakers may be even more valuable than gold. Gerome Sapp, CEO at Rares, a social investing platform that allows users to invest in hard-to-find kicks through buys and trades, joined Cheddar to talk about why he thinks the future of investing is in sneakers. "Sneakers have outperformed gold, the S&P 500, and many other traditional securities that have been doing well over the years. And sneakers have been doing it consistently for the last 10 years," he said.
