Frost joined Cheddar News to talk about her new series and how she juggles her personal life and manages several businesses along with her husband. "Honestly, I tell people all the time, if you're not in it wholeheartedly then don't waste your time," Frost said, regarding advice for first-time business owners. "Go into business wholeheartedly. And when she's not filming for her hit reality show, love and hip hop or busy being a mom and a wife Rasheeda Frost is calling the shots in her new business ventures all on her new show. Boss moves, take a look at this, get a glimpse into the life of me, Rasheeda Frost, Good morning guys and welcome to my world bouncing from business to business. This is cute balancing family times. See the hard work I gotta do and bringing home that bag. Damn. It's always something new up in that story. All while looking fly when you know the rules of the game, the sky's the limit. I love this. So joining me now, the star of the show, Miss Rasheeda Frost, Rasheeda Good to have you here in studio. So tell us about why you wanted to do this show. What did you sort of want viewers to sort of glean from doing this show? Okay. Honestly, we were just a little all over the place at first just trying to figure out exactly you know, how we wanted to put it together. But inside we're just like, you know what, let's just bring him into our world and show them what it really is, what it is. Me and my husband really do as entrepreneurs and allow everybody to see a side of us that they don't see. So how difficult was it sort of put this together because clearly you did this during the pandemic. Was it hard to do a show during the pandemic. Um not really because nobody was in your way. That's true, it's easy to sort of jump around a lot of things and you don't have a lot of other people around. So it was a little bit of in the pandemic and out of it somewhat, I guess if that's what you want to call it, but um we were able to like pull it together, pull it together quickly and thank goodness, and while I we got boss moves now. Absolutely, so obviously you're giving a lot of amazing advice for a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs in this show, what do you want people to sort of get from this? Honestly, I want people to get like, you know, I want them to see the dirty work, not just the glitz and glam that a lot of times you see on social media or you might have seen reality television, but just like you know the the falls and the mistakes and hopefully we can help other people prevent themselves for making those mistakes and really see like the day to day of what my husband and I really do when it comes to owning businesses, dealing with employees, dealing with our family and you know, all the different dynamics that we have, what advice do you have for a lot of, you know, business entrepreneurs, especially through this show that want to get started in a business, I mean business is a tough business and especially when you have so many different hats that you and your family wear, what sort of advice do you have for those that are trying to make it in this world right now? Honestly, I tell people all the time, if you're not in it wholeheartedly then don't waste your time. It's not gonna work, like it's not gonna work. Like people want the big results doing the minimal work and that's not gonna be, you know what, what you think it's gonna be, so go into business wholeheartedly, make sure your focus, make sure whatever business you're trying to do, you learn every aspect about that business and um you know, just just go hard for it, don't play with it and it's it's a it's a 3 65 24 7 type of thing, you know, did your time on Love and hip hop sort of prepare you for this sort of show and putting this show together? I think so, I think that along with just like all the things that I've been through in my life, from starting off in the music industry and you know, just kind of moving over to reality television and all of that. I think it just everything kind of goes simultaneously together to, you know, pull this whole show together now, you've stepped into different spaces, you have in the restaurant industry in particular, you've got Frost bistro and bar, what was it like during the pandemic in particular doing working in the restaurant industry because and were there anything that you sort of learned during that time that now you're applying now that maybe has made the restaurant a much more successful venture now first thing I learned was a short in the hours in the day. That's interesting. Okay, why is that? Honestly? Because the crazy thing is when we opened frost bistros in september Of 2019, not long after that we shut down for four months, you know for the pandemic. So coming back we just learned a lot about especially about the the employer employee relationship, employer employee relationship um during that time and just trying to understand how to quickly pivot so that you can adjust to this ever so big changed world that we live in now, you know, so it was a lot of learning lessons and us just really trying to figure it out, especially with it being a new business for us but you know we worked it out and we're here, we're open thursday through sunday. Yeah, I was gonna say the hours thing, obviously we've worked in your favor here, is there an item on the menu that is like your favorite thing All of it? But of course you're supposed to say, I am supposed to say that okay so some of my favorite is my husband's here and it's named after him but the Kirk's Cajun pasta, you can get it with chicken, shrimp, salmon or lobster? Okay so you can get all of it on there. Was there was this his favorite thing anyway and that's why it's on the menu. Okay, Okay, me too, me too. Okay, is there another business venture that you wanted to sort of dabble in that maybe you haven't done yet? Um Honestly my main focus now is just what you have is acquiring more real estate. Yes. Okay. So that's that's what are the next big thing is is to continue to flourish in the real estate room, best advice for people in business, working with their significant other because other there have been a lot of people would say, look, I love my spouse, but you know we cannot be in business together and some have been able to make it work. What sort of your advice to, to pulling it off? It's, it has its perks and it has, its downs, it is not meant for everyone. And for some people it's an amazing thing. But the main thing is, and I hate to say this word, oh my God, balance right because it's like not even right, but um you know learn when to turn it off and that's what my husband and I had to realize we have to realize, okay, every business we have, we're partners in, we do business together every single day, but there comes a time where we bump heads, we get mad and we got to know that's a business fight now it can't trickle into the personal and we have to learn how to cut it off and then just give him a pasta dish as a concession.
