Season 19 of "The Bachelorette" features two ladies, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia, looking for love on the reality show. Kay Brown and Jared Freid, the hosts of 'The Betchelor' podcast, joined Cheddar News to discuss all the drama of week eight of the current season.

Recapping Week Eight of the Latest Season of 'The Bachelorette'

let's kick things off with between bachelorettes because you know it's Tuesday and rose Lovers unite. There was a lot packed into two hours of television last night this week we went on a hometown date, got a chance to save his image and even Logan he was in the hot seat here. I feel like this is very exciting during the season, Right? Those hometown visits and mental law. So this is where it gets exciting. So let's start with Rachel. She headed to Salem massachusetts to meet Evans family very nervous coming off of her hometown date with Tino. His parents weren't completely sold on her or the process to say the least and even told Rachel his parents had strong negative feelings about his exes. So she wasn't going into this totally confident. You can't blame her. Well things kicked off with a love spell from a witch because well Duh, you're in Salem. Then they headed to the parental meet up where Evan's dad asked the tough questions are you earnestly sincerely wholeheartedly ready to commit to love with? Even My feelings for even are so strong. I truly do see a future with him. But can I sit here right now and be like 100%, no, I, I can't be honest, fair enough. But our relationship is just so special. I'm excited to see where it goes. So we should note Evan's parents are both separated. This was the first time they've ever met one of his significant others together. But it did seem like both parents did approve of evens new lady. Unlike some of the men from last week even can actually see himself getting down on one knee. I am getting to that point. I am. If I get the validation from Rachel to getting to the end of this and being like her showing me that she feels the same way as I do and that she sees a future with me. I feel like that's enough validation to trust that connection And yeah, I like her. I hope it works out. She's great. She's welcome to the family. Don't stop fighting for her because she's a good catch. That's a good response you want. That's what great response. And after the hometown date was one of the season's best moments. Men tell all and they did double The bachelorettes means double the drama. How household names including Logan Nate, Meatball and Tyler who went home last week. They got some softballs from jesse palmer until they really started to dive into the questionable stuff like Logan double dating and chris's inappropriate fantasy suite comments. Everyone added to the conversation when they felt like they needed to. But one guy in particular with a new platinum look chimed in a little too much. He was quickly shot down though you were here disappear. You were there at the mansion for four hours for a reason. I mean have some respect for the rest of us who had genuine feelings who caught feelings for these girls over the course of two months just shows that they made the right decision. I want to say I love that the men are as dramatic as robi wasn't even there for half the drama. He left the mansion hours after getting that that always happens. So it feels like there's always one cast member who didn't give him enough screen time. So he always sort of used the women tell all of the men tell all to sort of get back all that attention they didn't get from the season and the platinum hair and the platinum hair. That's why you get a new hairstyle. Now, jesse welcome Logan to the hot seat for a one on one conversation. That's where he addressed his infamous switcheroo. He didn't have any regrets about what he did, but he did apologize for making things pretty difficult and then it was Nate's turn, he and Jesse spent a few minutes talked about his brutal breakup with Gabby. It was brutal. He says their journey was beautiful, but knows that she was making the decision to end things with her heart. Listen here it was, it was one of the toughest goodbyes ever. You know when I woke up that morning, you know, I wasn't expecting to see my name on the date card and to go from just like I did not know that she was feeling those like, feelings of doubt, like I just wanted to be there for her and let her know that it was okay because I know that she was choosing with her heart. Then the attention turned to social media rumors, specifically Nate, allegedly keeping his daughter a secret, he told his side of the story last night, I went through a pretty traumatizing time when I uh went through divorce and essentially the foundation that was built around my daughter was pretty much crumbled and the one thing that I protect most on this earth is my daughter, like I would never bring her into a situation I feel is dangerous, a situation that I feel is unstable and so it just made me put a wall up protecting my daughter from the instability of my dating life. Most of us have been a big fan of Nate from night one, he seems respectful, thoughtful, polite and though these allegations came out about him, Gabby and the men saw the good in them, I think truly great men, make other men better and Nate, You made me better just talking to you, being around you, you're my brother alright Yeah, that was a really sweet moment last night. So joining us now to break down the bachelor episode Even more is K Brown and Jared, freed host of the bachelor podcast, Great to have both you guys here. So let's start off with our platinum blonde friend first roby who does roby think he is here Jared, it felt like he came on to make up for the time he lost on the show, he's a magician. You had to make a statement, you know, So I get it, you know? But you could tell he, you could tell he didn't have much. I mean K and I talked about it today. K you know, described him as having very much fan energy. It felt like he was a fan of the show and not a player on the show. So I would agree with what K was saying when we talked about on the podcast today. Okay, let's talk about Logan. He was asked a few times about his experience on the Bachelorette, how we switched from Rachel to Gabby. What did you make of his responses last night? Um personally, I think Logan was really uh he was well trained for this situation. He gave the perfect response is in the perfect way to where he sort of slipped by without having to actually without looking like a bad guy. He never looked like a villain, how we thought he was going to look. So I'm interested to see what happens on paradise with him because because with paradise Jared and I talk about Paradise is a place where you either redeem your reputation or it crumbles. So I'm excited to see what happens with him on paradise or your nick viall and you use it to basically springboard to become the next bachelor as a result, who knows, Logan seemed like he had had the we should stay casual conversation with a lot of women. He's dated and done it very well. He was very good at just slipping by. Yeah. So Jared. Let's talk about Nate because we showed some of the clips just a few moments ago really had his moment last night addressing his breakup. And a lot of the things that were being posted about him on the internet. Do you almost think it exceeded your expectations for how he handled everything last night? Uh You know Nate did a great job of taking things that no one could disagree with and using them as a shield for anyone that maybe had an issue with him. You know, I don't know there were rumors out there but when you say you know I did the best for my daughter, what is anyone gonna say? You know, so and and if you're not a parent you can't say anything. It's not your kids. So you know Nate did a great job and does what did, what most people do on the internet is they take the whatever is the most moral position so that no one can and bring them down. But I thought Nate handled it well and it seemed and here's the thing about Nate is everyone on that set liked Nate and that helps him a lot. Gabby came to his defense that you saw in that interview before one of the guys on the on the dais came to his defense. They all seem to be team Nate. So they propped him up to yes, okay. Where where were you happy with how the women handled the men tell all the men seem to take responsibility even apologizing. Do you think it was handled well? Yeah, I think it was handled well and I also think um, jerry and I talked about earlier, Rachel really stepped up because I think a lot of the season you could, you could really tell she was kind of insecure about things and then you see her on the men tell all and I think she just felt more comfortable in her own skin and was able to talk to these guys and handle the situation better than I think she was um, during the show. So even just apologize to the men for being like, hey, sorry, I canceled the date in bruges. I shouldn't have done that. I don't know. I think both women really really stepped up and were able to handle these men and take these situations and these learnings and really run with it. Well let's talk about Rachel's current journey because you know, we have a van's hometown date last night. Do you feel like Rachel needed that reassurance from the parents and a positive date to sort of end on here for even to sort of have a chance here to be honest. The Ativan date felt like it was, you know, attached on, it didn't feel like we got to know a van and her at all this season. I I don't see how he has even a chance of winning this thing because it just felt like it was just such a add on to the show last week. I mean the fact that it was on this week and not last week with the others I think Rachel, you know she wants the Bachelorette moment the whole season. Gabby was kind of the more real of the two bachelorettes and Rachel wanted the more romantic stories. So you know Rachel it felt like was looking to be told I'm in love, I'm gonna fall for you. Let's go to the end and she's getting that fairy tale with Eva and hit all those notes interesting. Let's talk about that. Kay would you like to see him get down on one knee at the end? He said he's willing to, he's the only one that says he's willing to right now. Do you think he is Rachel strongest connection so far? Um I actually said today I think even might be the guy mainly because I feel like that's the strongest connection. Like she had such a great date with him. The parents approved everything. I mean if he doesn't get on one knee for her I would gladly take that spot if I'm just putting that out there. Listen, if Avon proposes to either you or Rachel, I want Lorelei the love witch to be the official me? Okay but let's get to the next question is, who's going to be the next bachelor? Because I feel like, I don't know. I'll address this to both of you guys. This crop of guys. I don't know if they can sort of have their own season of The Bachelor here. So what happens next? Who becomes the or maybe a duo of bachelor? Good point. I honestly, I I don't know Jared and I haven't really talked about this mainly because I haven't even thought about who the next bachelor could even be because just like you guys said, there isn't really an option out of this season and there's no one that really pops into my head. I know there's an endless like looming of Tyler camera and that everybody wants to see as the bachelor, but I don't know. I think he's past that, he's over it there there's two candidates and one pours pasta sauce on his head every other episode. But I'm saying there's two people that are memorable from this season. It's meatball and it's Logan and Logan doesn't have the personality for it. I think they're gonna build someone up on paradise and make them the bachelor. I think Michael, the single dad from a couple of seasons ago. He seems like a good candidate. Um they like a story. We like Prince charming. We like Cinderella. So I I don't see none of these guys look like they hold the glass slipper. I think we're gonna have to see in paradise and we're gonna get someone that hasn't really made themselves. Uh you know, seen yet. Well look the crop of people for paradise, it's gonna be amazing. But are you guys basically saying Robby's chances of becoming the bachelor? Our share the platinum hair didn't put them over the top for me until we get some purple shampoo. I don't yes, we have to change that just a little bit. We have to stop, you know what we're talking about? You need to hire him for the next bar mitzvah. Yes, exactly. It's about special banks and kate brown and Jared, freed host of the bachelor podcast.
