Federal Regulators have ordered Tesla to provide data about the auto pilot configuration known as Elon mode regulators said it would allow vehicles to operate for extended periods of time without the driver touching the steering wheel. The agency sought this information in late July and received a reply from Tesla that is currently confidential. The agency's letter to Tesla was made public yesterday and this comes after Musk live streamed a video of himself inside a Tesla car operating with full self driving software which is still under development.
