Remote Work Solution Startup 'allwhere' Secures $9.5 Million in Seed Funding

Well that's gonna do it for today's raising the bar but I want to turn to another startup, shaking things up the workplace as we know, it is constantly evolving with remote work and flexible work options and high demand? Well the ideal work from anywhere. Environment comes with tons of logistical challenges for employers and all wear does provide teams with anything that they need to work anywhere. Now the startup just launching with $9.5 million in seed funding to fuel the future of work. And joining me now is Oscar Madison Ceo and founder of All wear Oscar, thanks so much for coming on the show. 9.5 million in funding. How are you gonna use that? Well, first and foremost, thank you so much for having me on the show. It's a big week for us. We've just launched out of stealth And yes, we received 9.5 million in funding from Discovery D. E. Shaw's venture studio which we spun out of and were incubated within. And the recent funding is a really key piece for us to help us grow our team, establish our executive, our executive team as well, scale the operation as well as expand the capabilities of the platform itself. So we've been in the market for a little bit and we've been piloting our services across north America latin America as well as europe and we're excited to grow our capabilities and customer base. Well, major congrats for coming out of stealth mode. I think the work from home work from anywhere environment is definitely in demand. We've seen that. But what did your pilot teach you, what do customers want from your service? I think the first thing that we're really seeing is the fact that there's no one size fits all for the future of work. Um We're a one stop solution for everything that a company might need. But really it's personal for each company for what they want to be able to provide to their employees. And so whether a company is navigating remote return to office or hybrid we empower them to provide whatever that may be. And so from the get go it's it's really about a you know the core infrastructure like uh I. T. Equipment accessories making sure that that work from home office is as good as if you have an in office set up and so that's much easier said than done. And so there's a lot of fundamentals that we're helping our companies set up as they navigate. This great change but then there's also fun pieces like employee benefits or swag or enabling you know making it really easy and seamless to give somebody a gift. You know there's inexpensive items that just mean the world to an employee that we might have given to somebody else. You know it's their birthday you know that a co worker is having a birthday you might have left a card on their desk. Well if you're working in a hybrid or distributed environment that becomes difficult with something like all where we can handle the complex pieces of getting I. T. Equipment where it needs to be but also really personal items like making sure that a card can show up anywhere on time to recognize people when they've done a great thing or something special is happening in their life. Um Oscar I know your leadership team is made up of we work alumni some we work alumni including yourself and obviously in the remote work model I'm sure there were a lot of lessons learned there. What are some of those lessons that you're taking out into this new role as the Ceo and founder of your company. I think something that was really interesting for all of us at we work was the fact that there was a lot more than just work that happened at work. And I think that that was a really pivotal uh change in the way that people saw just honestly from an office environment when I was there there were really important brands that were coming to learn from. We work about saying hey we have a great office space and we want to be able to improve that. What can we do. And I think that opened my eyes early in my career to the fact that you know this is how we spend our adult lives. You know we're spending 8910 hours a day at a startup sometimes more um building something that we believe in and it's really important for that environment to be conducive to work. And there's all these things that are not necessarily uh immediately efficiency enhancing that are really meaningful to actually people being able to do their best work. And I think as we went through the change of the remote environment that became a great challenge for people and so I wanted to be able to bring that to wherever people maybe because there's so many great reasons for why somebody might be working in the office remotely or in a hybrid hybrid method. So I know that your company Oscar now that it's out of stealth mode is working with companies to offer some of these services to their employees to make this hybrid work model more feasible. What are some of the companies that you're working with? So we have a great set of early adopters and they really run the full gamut of working models. You know, we have companies that were found in the pandemic and are 100% remote. We have companies that were helping, helping them navigate the transition from fully remote to hybrid as well as companies that are in the office five days a week and everything in between that happens as companies are more and more distributed and something we've seen as we work with them is the fact that choosing a working model is a deeply personal decision for a company and really we're here to help company company choose what works best for them and not dictate that one is one is right and what is the other? You know, we're asked frequently what's the future of work? Is it remote? Is it hybrid? You know, we might get to this later, but, you know, it's all the above and so at all. Where, you know, we furnish customers with employee equipment, the products, the tools, the purse, everything they need, as well as helping to find vendors and suppliers to to make this as easy as possible.
