"My True Crime Story" is back for season two on VH1, hosted by Remy Ma. The rapper and host joined Cheddar News to talk about the upcoming season. "I don't know if people think I'm like this crime guru; I'm really not. I’m just as shocked as some of you guys are when you're watching it for the first time," she said.

rev is such a pleasure to have you here. My true crime story back for season two, season one such a hit. So juicy, what's it feel like to be back again highlighting all these really fascinating stories. Um It's pretty fun, It's pretty fun because I believe it or not, like you know, I don't know if people think I'm like this crime guru, I'm really not just as shocked as some of you guys are when you're watching it for the first time, I have a lot of them, the first time I seen it, I was like, oh my God you did that. Like you walked into a bank and just gave them a note. Crazy. But um it's it's pretty cool because you get to see, you know what led up to the crimes, what was the consequence of it and what they were able to do to, you know, turn their lives around after the instant effects. So I think that's probably my favorite part like seeing where they are now and how they were able to overcome and turn a negative into a positive. Yeah, totally. I mean the clips we've been seeing from this upcoming season, it seems like the stories are just so wild. I mean was there one running in particular that really stood out to you and what you think fans going to be really excited about? Um what one really stood out to me? I mean they have different reasons for liking each one of them but I think to me like the this season and I was, I was just telling someone earlier was the story where she's selling steroids, She ends up being like deemed this queen pin of steroids, but she really just started out as a working mom that was pregnant, She lost her job pretty much because she was pregnant, she probably should have sued them because that's illegal, but she ended up making some deal with somebody to just send boxes to house that they would come and pick up and one day curiosity, you know, caused to the opening package and she was like, oh so this is what's happening and it was just like down the rabbit hole from there. She went from being just a regular mom that I think she worked at a bank or something like that, this whole queen pin of steroid ring and she, she was facing a lot of time and and I actually felt bad for her because it was really just to pay her mortgage and take care of her newborn baby and she didn't really wake up one day and say like, you know, I'm gonna go and sell all of these illegal steroids. So yeah, that story touched me the most Yeah, I mean that the heartbreak in that particular story, you resonate with her so much in that why do you think the show resonates so well with so many people that were so fascinated and drawn to these stories, I think a lot of um a lot of true crime stories, they try to go for the very elaborated deep and people that went on these sprees and did all this with my true crime story. We really find people that could be your next door neighbor, that could be your mom, that could be on that. You can really see yourself in their shoes. Like the one story with Strickland who she, I just had no other parents besides her grandparents, her grandmother and her grandmother died when she was young and she had to figure out like how do I take care of myself? How do I feed myself? How do I, you know make sure there's a roof over my head and you're just like like you know as a kid you should just be able to be a kid, you shouldn't have to deal with you know all these adult responsibilities and and unfortunately those those circumstances change the trajectory of her life. Yeah. Speaking of being in someone's shoes Remy, are we in your closet right now? You are definitely in my closet. I'm obsessed with all of the shoes. I can't stop looking at me in my house that my husband and my three year old. No they are not allowed. I love this that the threshold like not one ft goes on this little pink rug in here. I got to know how many shoes are in that closet right now. Oh let's just say what you probably see in the cameras about 3% goes all the way to over there. This is just mostly the sandal section. This is like red bottoms and pumps. Like all the shoes that kind of look like this over there is like unique shoes that you really can't really put them in no category. Over there's booties hang over there is all I I high boots! Oh my God. All the way down to the sneakers. Oh my God, I'm dying looking at all these shoes. Memory. This is incredible. I mean, I'm almost out of time with your fans. Got the collab they didn't know they needed with the new song, Remy wrap you and Rhapsody really did your thing on it? What was it like working with her? Uh rapidly. She is a sweetheart. And she's so funny. Like she's a comedian. I don't even think. She knows she's funny. DJ Premier had reached out to me and said he wanted to do the song with us. We did it probably like a year ago. And then he called me, he's like, hey, you know the projects coming out, we're gonna move forward with it and we're gonna shoot the video. And I'm like okay. So I called back and I'm like yeah, so what are you wearing? Like, I'm trying to collab with her cell to make sure we look like we're going to the same place and she's in L. A working on her album. And she's like grandma, to be honest, I don't have time to shop. And I'm like, well, I always got time to shop if you trust me. You know, I can shop for both of us and she trusted me enough to shop for both of us.
