Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger represents the sixteenth district of Illinois. He spoke to J.D. Durkin on Capitol Hill after a series of Democratic wins on Election Day. The congressman says the GOP should take this as a sign that it's time to rally the base ahead of next year's midterm elections. Before being elected to Congress, Kinzinger served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He told Cheddar that he spoke with President Trump before his trip to Asia and that the Commander in Chief is right to push allies and adversaries to speak out against North Korea. He also said Russian President Vladimir Putin is a "bad dude," and the U.S. should be careful the Kremlin does not undermine democracy. Congressman Kinzinger also started the "Friends of a Free, Stable and Democratic Syria Caucus." More than 30 members of Congress on both sides of the aisle are working together to give relief to the people trapped in a Civil War because, "Every human heart wants to be free."
