Rep. Carlos Curbelo may be locked in a contentious midterm race in Florida, but he says he's playing peacemaker in Washington. The moderate Florida Republican is a member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus and also co-founded the Climate Solutions Caucus, which he said has "resulted in the first meaningful dialogue between Republicans and Democrats on the issue of the environment and climate change." Curbelo, who spoke to Cheddar's JD Durkin in Florida, is being opposed by Democratic candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. While Curbelo is reaching across the aisle in Congress, he pointed his finger at Mucarsel-Powell for the heated nature of the race. "All my opponent wants to do is attack," he said.
