Report: 23% of Teachers Likely to Leave Their Jobs

Data suggests that us teachers are still dissatisfied with their jobs and it could be affecting the level of diversity in the profession. Data shows that 51,000 teachers left their job this past May. That's the highest level since April 2022 roughly a quarter of teachers reported wanting to leave teaching by the end of the 2022 2023 school year. That's according to a study by RAND Corporation, 80% of American teachers are white even as students get increasingly diverse. While that number is changing, the high level of turnover could mean fewer teachers of color going forward.
