While some weed enthusiasts were flying high, others complained of sticker shock and marijuana shortages. We spoke to Ben Kovler, the CEO of Green Thumb Industries. We had an explainer from Cheddar's own Chloe Aiello on the hemp industry. We learned more about hemp with Scott Slater, President and CEO of Cadiz Inc, a leader in natural resources that owns 70 square miles of property in Southern California. Cadiz Inc is in the testing phase of harvesting industrial hemp. And Canopy Growth is pumping the brakes on cannabis infused beverages. The company announced it will be delaying the launch due to an issue in the scaling process. We spoke to Emily Flippen, Investment Analyst, Motley Fool.

Counting Down to Marijuana Legalization in Illinois
Weed will be legal in Illinois on January 1st, 2020. The Land of Lincoln will become the 11th state to legalize the sale and use of recreational cannabis for people over the age of 21. The state is also helping minority entrepreneurs get into the cannabis industry, in an attempt to keep it from being immediately gentrified.
