The festivities will be in Cleveland this year. A city where our guest this week won an NBA title and if you ask him, he should have been an all star too. But before we get into all that, you know, we had to ask about the James Harden Ben Simmons blockbuster. So here's the host of the road Trippin podcast NBA today analysts and now Tiktok star Richard Jefferson take a listen look, I would still pick the Milwaukee bucks to be favorite just because they're the defending champions and they're all pushing in the same direction. There's a little bit of chemistry there too because they've been together for a few years outside of that, I would still put Philly over Brooklyn, Vegas might have them as with different odds, but I would pick Philly mainly because their two best players are going to be on the court and ready to play? Where with the Brooklyn nets Kevin Durant still off injury. It hasn't returned from injury. Kyrie is still a part time player and Ben Simmons hasn't played in nine months. And so just you know, using those logics, I'm still gonna go with Milwaukee didn't believe in Brooklyn. I was secretly hoping he was going to suit up last night. By the way. I was expecting to see it. I don't know why. Yeah, I know, I know. All right. We got to talk about All star weekend. It's this weekend. Let's start off with the dunk contest? So who is your favorite? And who's your dark horse? Oh I like Obi toppin. Obi Toppin is. I like Obi toppin. And normally I don't say anything positive about mixed people. But I think he's got a chance. My dark horse uh cole Anthony because little guys, little guys don't have to do nearly as much in order to get uh to get the high point. So he's my dark horse by the way. I'm so happy you said that. I was just making the same argument myself. I think he's the perfect dark horse. I mean he's 63. He's the shortest guy there. But I feel like the magic have got to get it after victor. Oladipo didn't get it. And then Aaron Gordon? Like we need a win for the look, Aaron Gordon? They cheated my my former wildcat multiple times. Levine. He definitely should have won one. But the dunk contest should have been split. Absolutely agree. All right, so who's your favorite forward, the three point contest? And who is the dark horse for that one too? You know what? This is. What's so crazy. I don't even know who's in the three point contest because you know Duncan was my specialty? That's what I enjoyed the most. Like who's in three point contest. Do we have anybody who tell me who yours is? And I'll tell you if I agree. Karl Anthony Towns, isn't it? Do you think a seven footer is gonna win? No, no, Karl Anthony towns shoots too many threes in regular season games. I don't think he's gonna win a three point contest. Okay, let's talk about the actual game now. Which players do you think are going to be the most motivated to win the game and take home the first Kobe Bryant all star game? MvP trophy? Well that's a tough one because that first trophy for Kobe Bryant, that one is going to be, I think this is probably gonna be one of the more competitive games which which I guess is only right given uh that, you know, because of its in Kobe Bryant's memory. Uh Lebron James is going to try and get it. I know chris paul is going to be up there trying to compete Janice. So I like this one time I do, my dark horse is one of the guys from Cleveland. If Darius garland gets going or somebody like that? I'm gonna say it's gonna be a really young guy even though the older guys are gonna be trying to get it. Where do you rank among the biggest all star snubs of all time? Where do I rank? Honestly, probably fairly middle range low. My entire focus from a young age was always being on good teams and I was fortunate, you know, playing the national championship game, you know, played in four NBA fine because I was always on good teams. So if I wasn't able to get some individual accolades because I was always on loaded rosters are very good teams. I'm fine with that, I'm very comfortable with how my career ended, but there were a couple of years there where I was like, I know that I'm better than a large portion of the all star group, but that's, we'll keep that a personal conversation. No, absolutely, that's what I wanted to hear. Well you will be calling the celeb game this weekend, so what should we expect from that by the way, just a lot of fun for, first of all me and perk that that's my running mate, that's my guy, you know, everybody has that one work friend, that's, that's the reoccurring theme with him. Him and I are always cracking jokes, were side text and we're watching games in different cities and calling each other just, you know, so the fact that we're gonna be competing against each other is great. Bill Walton anytime Bill Walton's in front of the camera microphone, anything god knows what he's gonna do. So uh you gotta Dominique the legend Cassidy Hubbarth is going to be there. So it's just, you know, first of all just from the people that are gonna be calling, this is gonna be awesome and then you get the people on the court, you know, you know, M G. K Nuevo Jack Carlo, that's what everybody is going to be watching for. Not our antics. Me and Perk and bill Walton and not our antics are antics are just kind of the cherry on top. Absolutely. They're definitely the cherry on top. I was gonna ask you who you're rooting for because M. G. K is really the only one that I know about. He's from Cleveland and he just went viral for a video of him, you know, shooting a bunch of threes in a row. I think it was like six threes in a row and he's like, I'm ready for it, but I'm ready for MTK MTK Is that that, that's, that's my side right there. That's Cleveland. He performed during the parade when we won the championship, his song? You know, you know, to the land till I die. Like that's that's the guy. So he gets all the love. All right, good. I'm with you on that one. Okay, so we're going to play a game called pick six with you the way it works around here. Uh my guy, Matt, daughter holly is an Oregon state guy, one of my close friends, so I'm gonna say screw him and it's going to be the Wildcats gonna win by four or three.
